HOME > About JVIA > Message from the Chairman
In 26th Annual General Meeting held on May 14, and 165th Board of Directors Meeting which followed it, I am Kenji Minami, chosen as the 15th Chairman of Japan Vacuum Industry Association. It is very honor to me to have been put forward for the chairman of Japan Vacuum Industry Association which bears the role supporting the vacuum technology used in all the fields of the industrial world and its industry today.
Needless to say that in the economic situation of these days which changes dramatically, vacuum industry also thinks that the change of the style is called for by it.
Keeping the tradition of the time-honored Japan Vacuum Industry Association, I will promote new challenges and do my best efforts for the further development of the industry. By all means, it will be highly appreciated to me to giving much more suggestion and support to me and the Directors/Auditors elected and assigned at the General Meeting.
The economic environment which surrounds the vacuum industry is very severe to the industrial world and Japan Vacuum Industry Association since Lehman shock in 2008. Although the business conditions have been recovering, it is the still severe circumstances and on knife-edge still now. Under these circumstances, Japan Vacuum Industry Association will continue the activities based on the long-term vision of "Action plan 21" which aims "With that contribute to society; promote prosperity and development of cooperation among members of the Member".
Recently, vacuum has been used in various fields and is being handled with a feeling such as air and therefore I feel fear that the nature of the vacuum is forgotten as a technology which is a "natural function".
Year 2010, I will figure out the changing market conditions by using eyes with a stand point of user, and will be seeking new contacts of social needs and vacuum technology, and will expand the two wheels of "Social responsibility" and "Mission related to the membership interests". The point which should be reformed is reformed promptly and I consider Japan Vacuum Industry Association wants to rise into the organization who contributes to society further.
I do my best to be evaluated as like "Happy to join" from all Association members, directors/auditors and many people who are taking part in Association's activity.
I would like to request your cooperation again before ending my message.
